BCT Inspector Suite

Integration of quality management and First Article Inspection into the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

  • Automatic drawing and revision comparison with graphical and spreadsheet display of the engineering changes
  • CAD independent visualization of characteristics and appraisal drawings
  • Fast and precise traceablility of modifications
  • Free definealble export of audit and modification reports in configurable form templates according to industry or company standards
  • Direct interface to Teamcenter
  • Reversal of relevant data for manufacturing and quality assurance

The BCT Inspector Suite is available for NX, Solid Edge, CATIA and neutral formats and consists of the following modules:

BCT Inspector

Module for the integration of quality management and first article inspection into the NX and Teamcenter product lifecycle management (PLM) environment

In the product development process a multitude of data is generated that is required for quality management. It contains the critical knowledge for the continuous improvement of the product and the manufacturing processes. This data is critical for the competitiveness and success of any company manufacturing a product. BCT Inspector is the tool that facilitates the identification and extraction of this valuable knowledge from the development environment and makes the data available throughout the entire lifecycle of the part. The data is available for quality assurance processes throughout the complete supply chain. BCT Inspector provides this data using up to 80% less time than manual methods. While eliminating manual data entry errors BCT Inspector gives the data unique identifiers that never change for the life of the part. This provides a permanent link to the characteristics through every change and modification. This process is supported for legacy raster data, 2D drawings and 3D model information. The BCT Inspector software supports a smooth migration from traditional drawing based processes to model based information.

BCT Inspector Viewer

CAD independent module to provide design change verification in product development and in quality management

Rapid and accurate change identification and verification is an important task in the change management process from product development out to the supply chain. With design modifications often being identified on a drawing, but the actual changes being implemented in a model, there are more opportunities now than ever before for inadvertent changes to occur. Outsourcing drafting efforts also means a great deal of time is spent verifying design changes have been done correctly. Avoiding missed items and mistakes in these processes can save the expense of making bad parts. BCT Inspector Viewer is a tool that provides an automatic way to identify every design change that has occurred, flagging those items, so that all downstream processes are automatically notified of the changes without having to do a 100 % check. Typically this can reduce the time a company spends verifying changes by 70 % or more.

BCT Inspector RevCompare

Clear revision history

BCT Inspector RevCompare dramatically reduces the error rate often generated through insufficient documented modification descriptions in the manufacturing industry. The clear graphical and schedular identification of the modifications between two revisions simplifies significantly the communication within a company and eliminates potential error sources. Already conducted process analysis in different companies show, that an amortization time of one to two years is realistic. Without manual effort in the design department all required basic data for the comparison of drawings are generated independently by BCT Inspector to assure a process-sure and automated data consistency. Users in all technical areas can execute any drawing comparisons at the push of a button. A graphical comparison of the changed drawing elements is generated. The highlight of the BCT Inspector solution is that in addition to the graphical revision compare the single modified characteristics (e.g. units, tolerances and also text) are displayed in a spreadsheet to allow a fast and complete overview of the changes done. One of the basic advantages of this solution is the fact, that this modification comparisons can be done „on demand“ and do not have to be saved redundantly on the system. Up-to-dateness is therewith always guaranteed. When needed, a simple modification report for testing and approval documentation or a full report of all modifications done during the complete lifecycle of a product can be created.
