Product and supply chain data like requirements, specifications and  customer/supplier correspondence, exchanged more and more over e-mail systems, are significant sources of documentation of  the lifecycle of a product. The distinct advantage of LotusNotes 2TCEng-Gateway / Outlook2TCEng- Gateway is the integration of these still disconnected worlds of groupware and PLM. It provides a controllable process for the transfer of e-mail, attachments and header information from the e-mail attachments and header information from the e-mail database into the PLM system. The archiving of important e-mail information and embedding it into the workflow of the product lifecycle management system ensures documentation of the change management processes and supports ISO certification.
