Updating and Replacing a SolidWorks License
For Network Licenses (SolidWorks License Manager)
Step 1: Deactivate the Existing License
- Open the SolidWorks License Manager on the server.
- Go to the Server Administration tab.
- Click Modify and choose Deactivate to release the license.
Step 2: Install the New Version (if upgrading)
- Download the latest SolidWorks installation files from the Customer Portal.
- Locate “SoWo_License_Manager” folder inside the package and run the setup.exe as Administrator.
- Follow the steps on the installer, SolidWorks License Manager installer will locate the existing installation and will upgrade it.
Step 3: Reactivate the License
- After installation, open the SolidWork License Manager.
- Go to the Server Administration tab and click ReActivate.
- Activation will be done over the internet.
Step 4: Verify Activation
Check the License Usage tab to ensure the new license is active and available to clients.
