      Read out Host information for licensing (Hostname, Composite-ID, MAC-ID)

      Licensing: How to read out the required host information for the creation of a license file

      Readout the hostname and MAC-ID

      These information are required for:

      • the generation of a BCT license file
      • a host bound license bundle (so called "nodelocked licenses")

      1. Open the Windows "Command Prompt"
      2. Please enter the command „ipconfig /all“
      3. Here the hostname and the physical adress / MAC-ID of the network adapter are required (LAN / WIFI Adapter)

       

      Read out the "Composite-ID" (CID), the hostname and the MAC-ID

      These information are required for:

      • the generation of a Siemens license file

      1. Please download the software package "SiemensLicenseServer_v2.4.0.0_hostid_utils.zip" from the Siemens Support Center or from our BCT website
        Download Hostid Utils (Siemens Support Center account required)
      2. Unpack the zip archive and choose the directory for Linux or Windows (depends on your operating system)
      3. Please run the getcid.exe (Windows) or getcid (Linux)
      4. Here the hostname, the COMPOSITE and the MAC-ID of one of the network adapters will be required

      If more than one network adapater should be listed here, please choose the network adapater, which is primarily used for your internet connection (LAN or WIFI)
